5 Lions named to 2026 Pro Bowl

The NFL released the Pro Bowl selections Tuesday morning, and the Lions have five players on the roster and five others who are alternates.

Linebacker Jack Campbell, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, tackle Penei Sewell and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown have all been named to the Pro Bowl this year. Campbell, Gibbs, Hutchinson and Sewell were named Pro Bowl starters. It's the first Pro Bowl selection for Campbell.

Campbell, 25, has become one of the best MIKE linebackers in the NFL in just his third season. He's recorded 159 tackles (83 solo), nine tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Campbell has logged eight games this season with 10-or-more tackles and became the NFL's first player to produce a season with at least 150 tackles, 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles since Shaquille Leonard in 2018.

Gibbs, 23, has established himself over the last couple seasons as one of the most exciting young running backs in the NFL. He is now a Pro Bowler in back-to-back seasons. He's currently seventh in the NFL in rushing with 1,102 yards and his 1,662 scrimmage yards rank No. 8. His 17 total touchdowns (13 rush, 4 rec.) are second behind only Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor (19).

Gibbs is averaging 5.31 yards per carry and just passed Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns (48) a player has logged through three-career seasons in NFL history.

In his fourth season, Hutchinson, 25, is poised to set a new career single-season high in sacks as he's tied his previous mark of 11.5 with two games remaining in the regular season.

Hutchinson is currently tied with Houston's Will Anderson Jr. for the league lead with 87 total pressures and his 30 quarterback hits are third most. Hutchinson is the first player in franchise history to log multiple 10.0-sack seasons through the first four years of a player's career.

Sewell, 25, earns his fourth straight trip to the Pro Bowl as he's cemented himself as not only one of the best right tackles in football but one of the best tackles period. He is considered one of the best pound-for-pound athletes in the league today.

Sewell has allowed just one sack and six quarterback hits in 15 starts. He is Pro Football Focus' top-graded tackle (94.9) in the NFL this season.

It's the fourth Pro Bowl selection for St. Brown, 26, in the last four seasons. He's caught 98 passes for 1,194 yards (12.2 avg.) with 11 touchdowns this season. Only Los Angeles' Davante Adams (14) has scored more than St. Brown among receivers this year.

St. Brown passed Michael Thomas this season for most receptions by a player (528) in his first five seasons in the NFL in franchise history.

The Lions also had 5 players named as alternates for the Pro Bowl, as follows:

  • Quarterback Jared Goff (1st alternate)
  • Safety Brian Branch (1st)
  • Wide receiver Jameson Williams (4th)
  • Safety Kerby Joseph (5th)
  • Tight end Sam LaPorta (5th)
