Versatility: Veteran tight end Darren Fells has shown to be more than a blocking specialist, so when he was split wide right it looked like he might be a target for a pass. Wrong. He blocked down on a quick throw inside to Marvin Jones Jr. and cleared the way for yards after the catch. On the next play Fells lined up in the slot to the right – and got in front of a running play to make a good block on the right defensive end. – Mike O'Hara

Catching radius: Coaches and quarterbacks love players with a big catching radius. Rookie Kenny Golladay showed his off a little bit on Sunday. He made a terrific lunging catch on a ball thrown out in front of him in 7-on-7's for a touchdown. He also went up and snagged a high 50-50 ball for a touchdown in one-on-one drills against fellow rookie Teez Tabor. At 6-foot-4, Golladay has a pretty big catching radius. – *Tim Twentyman

QB harassment: Even when they are doing individual drills, quarterbacks face simulate pressure that they get in game conditions. In one drill Sunday, people slapped at their hands and arms as they stepped up in the pocket to throw the ball. On another drill, a blocking dummy was knocked over in front of them as they released passes. No rest for the QBs. – *Mike O'Hara

No shoes: Golden Tate got fans riled up after practice. After signing some autographs, Tate took off his cleats and raised them up to the air to see if anyone wanted them. The fans went nuts. As promised, Tate gave his cleats to two lucky fans and then ran across the field and into the locker room in his socks. – Tim Twentyman

Ebron update: For the second-straight day, injured tight end Eric Ebron was running before practice. That's a good sign that he might be nearing a return from the injured hamstring he suffered the first day of training camp. Also running with Ebron were Armonty Bryant and Cornelius Washington. – Tim Twentyman

Play of the day: It was a double dip for rookie tight end Michael Roberts. He's had ups and downs, which is common for a young player, and he was up and down on two straight plays. And it was a good thing. He went high to catch a pass in the back of the end zone, using every bit of his 11-inch hands to make the grab. On his next route, Roberts adjusted in the end zone to reach back and make a tumbling catch. All in all, a good one-two. – Mike O'Hara

Marvin Jones Jr. made a terrific catch over the top of cornerback Nevin Lawson for a touchdown in a team drill. The ball was beautifully thrown by quarterback Matthew Stafford right to a spot where only Jones could get it. Jones then did a terrific job getting both feet down right along the sideline of the end zone.
