NFC NORTH: Where all four teams stand heading into Week 5

DETROIT

Record: 3-1

Week 4 result: Detroit 34, Cleveland 10

Offensive rank: 6th (365.0)

Defensive rank: 11th (293.0)

Key stat: Lions quarterback Jared Goff has a 113.0 passer rating through Detroit's first four games. He's thrown for 929 yards with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Only Baltimore's Lamar Jackson (130.5) has a higher rating than Goff this season.

Quotable: "I thought our defense set the tone for the day, those three takeaways, Leaf (Kalif Raymond) on the punt return. And offensively we were able to turn those three takeaways into 17 points, which was huge," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after the win Sunday.

"Look, in the grand scheme of things, coming off of a big win on Monday night, short week, come out, find a way to close that out and play really good defense. I was proud of the guys for that."

Twentyman: The Lions are rolling after their third straight victory and what Lions fans should be most excited about is they are getting contributions from all three phases. The Lions lead the league in sacks (14), they are second in sacks allowed (3), and they have one of the better return and cover units on special teams. A team that can win three different ways on any given Sunday is a very dangerous team.

GREEN BAY

Record: 2-1-1

Week 4 result: Green Bay 40, Dallas 40

Offensive rank: 10th (347.3)

Defensive rank: 8th (283.3)

Key stat: The Packers are the second best offense in the NFL on third down, converting on 53.7 percent (29-for-54) of their third down attempts on the season. Defensively, Green Bay ranks third on third down, limiting opponents to just a 32.7 percent (18-for-55) conversion rate.

Quotable: "They made some big plays, they executed, we missed a lot of tackles," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told packers.com after the Dallas game Sunday night where his No. 1 scoring defensive coming into Sunday allowed 40 points to the Cowboys. "We've got to find a way somehow, some way to generate some takeaways."

Twentyman: After starting the season with two impressive victories over Detroit and Washington, the Packers are 0-1-1 in their last two against Cleveland and Dallas. It's hard to get an early gauge on Green Bay given how good they've played in a couple games and how inconsistent they've been the last two weeks. It's still a very young roster - the youngest in the NFL - so the expectation is they'll continue to get grow and get better as the year goes on. They've let a couple opportunities slip through their fingers the last two weeks and those can end up being big when everything is added up and the playoff brackets are formulated at the end of the season.

MINNESOTA

Record: 2-2

Week 4 result: Pittsburgh 24, Minnesota 21

Offensive rank: 22nd (294.0)

Defensive rank: 7th (281.8)

Key stat: The Vikings lead the NFL with 37.8 percent of their offensive drives resulting in a three-and-out through the first four games of the season. They've had 17 of their first 45 offensive drives of the year result in a three-and-out. For comparison, Indianapolis has had only three drives resulting in a three-and-out to lead the NFL at just 7.9 percent.

Quotable: "We hold ourselves to certain standards. And you've got a guy like Aaron Rodgers just sitting back there and controlling the game off running the ball when they don't even have their starting running back in," Vikings safety Josh Metellus told vikings.com after the loss to Pittsburgh Sunday. "Although we were getting stops, they were still controlling ... how much time we were on the field, and we've gotta be better."

Twentyman: The Vikings are strong defensively but continue to get inconsistent play from the quarterback position, whether it's been J.J. McCarthy or Carson Wentz. The Vikings have a ton of weapons on both sides of the football and a head coach that I believe is one of the best in the league, but unless they start to get consistent play from the quarterback position – seven giveaways in four games – it's going to be hard to compete with the elite teams in the NFC.

Up next: vs. Cleveland (1-3), Sun., Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m.

CHICAGO

Record: 2-2

Week 4 result: Chicago 25, Las Vegas 24

Offensive rank: 18th (328.0)

Defensive rank: 28th (379.5)

Key stat: Bears second-year wide receiver Rome Odunze has gone four consecutive games to start the season scoring a touchdown, the most by a Bears player since Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton did so in the first five contests of 1986.

Quotable: "I'm proud of our guys," Bears head coach Ben Johnson told chicagobears.com following Chicago's win Sunday. "They came through for us. We're building something special here. I think they're feeling it; just the belief they have in each other, the belief they have in this coaching staff. I thought it really showed. This is a huge win for our team. Finding a way in the fourth quarter to come out on top, I just thought was outstanding for us. Proud of our guys, proud of the locker room."

Twentyman: The Bears are finding ways to win games while growing in Johnson's new schemes offensively and defensively. That's important because they'll continue to settle in and should get more consistency, especially on offense, the more time on task this season. Chicago has allowed the third most points in the NFL this season (117) and the fifth most yards (1,518) so those are areas they'll look to improve moving forward.
