How he fits: The nice thing about having a versatile All-Pro player like Penei Sewell is his ability to play both right and left tackle, which gives the Lions a lot of flexibility.

"I think that's the beauty of having a player like him is that you always have that flexibility, or the possibility of him playing left tackle," GM Brad Holmes recently told the Lions Collective podcast. "He's done it before. That's not anything foreign to him.

"So, even as we're going through free agency, we weren't really pigeonholed, like, we've got to get a left tackle, we've got to get a right (tackle). We're like, 'What's the best tackle for us?' Then we'll kind of adjust as needed. That's kind of the beauty of it."

Newly signed veteran tackle Larry Borom has played most of his snaps at right tackle.

Miller, like Borom, played a ton of right tackle with 54 college starts under his belt. He started every game Clemson played in his entire four-year career.

Miller is athletic and moves well in space. The fact that he was a high school wrestler shows up in his game, and there's upside to his game if he sharpens his technique and pad level.

Key observations: Miller broke the Clemson record for career snaps from scrimmage, playing 3,778 offensive snaps over 54 career games (all starts) from 2022-25.

What they had to say about him: "Miller lined up at right tackle for the Tigers. A high school wrestler, the iron man started 54 games at Clemson. He has ideal size, length and strength for the position. In pass protection, he has enough quickness to cover up speed rushers off the edge. He uses his length and strong hands to latch and control defenders. He can sink his weight and anchor down against power rushers.

"He plays with awareness to pick up twists and stunts. In the run game, he can generate movement on down blocks and he always strains to finish. When working up to linebackers, he's effective on a single track but struggles to redirect and wall off defenders in space. Overall, Miller has the ideal profile for a starting NFL right tackle." – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL media analyst

How he stacks up: Miller is Jeremiah's 19th ranked prospect in his most recent Top 50 players available in next month's NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

He is a little bit farther down on Dane Brugler's list of the Top 100, coming in at No. 42.

"Another polarizing prospect. Miller plays too upright, but his quickness up the arc and physical demeanor in the run game help him get the job done," Brugler wrote. "Bottom line: NFL teams will always bet on offensive linemen with Miller's combination of physical traits, competitive toughness and remarkable football character."

NFL lead draft writer Eric Edholm has Miller listed 38th on his first list of the Top 100 players.

Miller checks in at No. 24 on ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.'s latest Draft Big Board.

"Miller has a ton of experience as a four-year starter (54 starts), and he was more consistent in 2025 than in past seasons," Kiper wrote. "His game really grows on you. As a right tackle, he does a good job keeping his frame between the pass rusher and his QB, and he can handle spins and secondary pass-rush moves. Miller can also get downfield to make blocks in the run game."

Fellow ESPN draft analyst Field Yates has Miller as the No. 32 prospect and No. 6 tackle in the class.

What he had to say: "I feel like I've seen a lot of football. I've been a part of a lot of plays, seen a lot of different rushers, seen a lot of different schemes," Miller said at the Combine.

"So, I feel like that helps me. You know people learn by kind of going out there and doing stuff and I am excited to learn more. I think there is so much to learn in this league. And there is so much knowledge in this league. And you know, I just can't wait to kind of be a sponge and soak everything up."
