Lions sign undrafted rookie free agent TE Ben McCord

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that they have signed undrafted rookie free agent TE Ben McCord. Contract terms were not disclosed.

A four-year contributor at Central Michigan, McCord started all 13 games for the Chippewas last season and finished with a career-high 39 receptions for 612 receiving yards (15.7 avg) and five touchdowns. Against Minnesota in the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field, he caught two passes for 42 yards.

In 48 career games at CMU, McCord totaled 65 receptions for 879 yards (13.5 avg) and nine touchdowns.
