Lions sign three free agents

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agents OL Connor Bozick, TE Andrew Price and DE Giorgio Newberry. Contract terms were not disclosed.

In addition, the Lions announced that they have waived-injured LB Brandon Copeland.

Bozick re-joins the Lions after originally signing with the team earlier this offseason. Prior to the NFL, he completed a four-year career at Delaware (2013-16) where he was a two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection at both tackle and guard. He appeared in 46 games in his four years for the Blue Hens, including 24-consecutive starts to finish his career.

Price enters the NFL after spending four seasons at UNLV (2013-16). During his college career, he appeared in 45 games and totaled 37 receptions for 445 yards and four touchdowns.

Newberry, a four-year (2012-15) contributor at Florida State, entered the NFL ranks as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2016. In four seasons at Florida State he played defensive tackle, defensive end and tight end, finishing with 36 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 54 games.
