Lions sign free agent S Marcus Gilchrist

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent S Marcus Gilchrist to the active roster. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.

Gilchrist comes to Detroit after spending time with the Oakland Raiders (2018), Houston Texans (2017), New York Jets (2016) and San Diego Chargers (2011-14). In 123 games (98 starts), he has recorded 482 tackles, 39 pass defenses, 14 interceptions, five forced fumbles and 4.0 sacks.

He originally entered the League with the Chargers in 2011 as a second-round draft pick (50th overall) out of Clemson.
