Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent RB Justin Forsett and re-signed OL Brian Mihalik to the team's practice squad.

In addition, Detroit waived LB Steve Longa and released DE Wallace Gilberry from Reserve/Injured.

Currently in his ninth NFL season, Forsett has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts (2008), Seattle Seahawks (2008-11), Houston Texans (2012) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2013). In 116 career regular season games (34 starts), he has totaled 764 carries for 3,697 rushing yards (4.8 avg.) and 18 touchdowns in addition to 201 receptions for 1,302 receiving yards and one touchdown. In four career postseason games (2 Sea-2010; 2 Bal-2014), he had 48 carries for 198 yards (4.1 avg.) and eight receptions for 61 yards (7.6 avg.) and one touchdown.

Mihalik (6-9, 302) returns to Detroit after originally signing with the team last week before he was released on October 8.  He participated in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this year and appeared in the Steelers' preseason opener against Detroit (8/12).

A seventh-round selection (237th overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Boston College, Mihalik spent the beginning of the 2015 season as a member of the Eagles practice squad.
