Lions re-sign TE Tim Wright

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed TE Tim Wright. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Acquired by the Lions via trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, Wright appeared in nine games for Detroit in 2015. He finished with nine receptions for 77 yards (8.6 avg) and two touchdowns, including a nine-yard touchdown grab in the season finale at Chicago (1/3)

Wright entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Buccaneers out of Rutgers in 2013 before being traded to the New England Patriots in 2014, where he was a member of the team's Super Bowl XLIX win over Seattle. In 40 career regular season games (11 starts), Wright has recorded 89 receptions for 907 yards (10.2 avg) and 13 touchdowns.
