Lions announce several transactions

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed DB Keith Lewis and WR Andre Roberts. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Detroit also today waived WR Austin Willis and placed WR Corey Washington on Reserve/Injured.

Previously with the New York Jets (2014) and San Diego Chargers (2015) practice squads, Lewis entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014 out of Virginia-Lynchburg. He most recently spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs after signing with the team as a free agent in January 2016.

Roberts enters his seventh NFL season and joins the Lions receiving corps following a two-year stint with the Washington Redskins (2014-15). He appeared in nine games for Washington last season, hauling in 11 receptions for 135 yards.

Originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round (88th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft out of The Citadel, Roberts played the first four seasons of his career with the Cardinals from 2010-13. In six NFL seasons, his career totals include 229 receptions, 2,711 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, as well as nine carries for 77 yards. He has played in 87 career games (39 starts).
