Quotable: "It means nothing right now," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday of regaining first place in the NFC North with a win over Chicago. "I mean, it means a lot but there's four weeks left and you've got to take it day by day. You've got to really embrace that grind, embrace the challenge. It's not going to be easy from here on out."

Twentyman: It was a good win Sunday at home for the Packers as they'll face the Bears again in Chicago in just two weeks in what could be a monster matchup with major playoff and division championship implications. Green Bay has the top defense in the division and that travels in the cold and down the stretch.

Green Bay has to play three of their remaining four contests on the road away from Lambeau Field to finish. That won't be easy, especially this week in Denver against a good Broncos team that's trying to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC. It's still Green Bay's division to lose as they control their own destiny a half game ahead of the Bears with four to go and a chance Week 16 to take the season series from Chicago.

Remaining schedule: at Denver (11-2), at Chicago (9-4), vs. Baltimore (6-7), at Minnesota (5-8)

CHICAGO

Record: 9-4

Week 14 result: Green Bay 28, Chicago 21

Offensive rank: 5th (369.7)

Scoring offense: 8th (25.7)

Defensive rank: 27th (357.3)

Scoring defense: 25th (25.8)

NFC playoff picture: No. 7 seed

Chicago's playoff probability percentage stands at 64 percent.

Quotable: "When it comes down to the wire like that and you're on the losing side of it, it's disappointing," Bears head coach Ben Johnson said of his team's comeback bid coming up short after a late interception. "But a lot of credit to our guys in the second half there, making it a game, down 14-3 at halftime and yet it coming down to the last 30 seconds … Really close at the end but give a lot of credit to Green Bay. They made a couple more plays than us."

Twentyman: The Bears couldn't find some of that late-game magic they've had most of the season, falling to Green Bay Sunday afternoon. Now they have a major game looming vs. Green Bay in two weeks, but first, they have to worry about the task at hand which is welcoming in a Cleveland Browns team with a really good defense and a young quarterback in Shedeur Sanders who looks to be getting more comfortable the more he plays.

The Bears are sitting at 9-4 on the season despite their defensive rankings because they can score points and they have a plus-17 turnover differential, which leads the NFL. But when their offense stalls or they don't create turnovers, they can sometimes struggle like we saw in the first half Sunday.

Remaining schedule: vs. Cleveland (3-10), vs. Green Bay (9-3-1), at San Francisco (9-4), vs. Detroit (8-5)

DETROIT

Record: 8-5

Week 14 result: Detroit 44, Dallas 30

Offensive rank: 3rd (378.7)

Scoring offense: 1st (30.3)

Defensive rank: 15th (323.9)

Scoring defense: 18th (23.4)

NFC playoff picture: No. 8 seed

Detroit's playoff probability percentage stands at 53 percent.

Quotable: "We played complementary football. That, above all, is what really makes the difference," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after beating Dallas last week. "That's what good teams do. It doesn't matter how good your offense, your defense is – if you're not able to help each other out when you need it with one of the phases, it's tough. It makes it tough and we were able to do that today."

Twentyman: It was a big win last week for the Lions, beating a Dallas team that came in winners of three straight. It allows Detroit to keep pace with Green Bay, Seattle, San Francisco and Chicago, teams the Lions are hoping to jump in the standings the next four weeks to qualify for the playoffs in the NFC. It's simple for Detroit: They need to get hot and stack some wins together. They haven't won back-to-back contests since Weeks 4 & 5. Detroit probably has to win at least four of their last five to make it to 11 wins to get in.

Remaining schedule: at Los Angeles Rams (10-3), vs. Pittsburgh (7-6), at Minnesota (5-8), at Chicago (9-4)

MINNESOTA

Record: 5-8

Week 14 result: Minnesota 31, Washington 0

Offensive rank: 28th (275.7)

Scoring offense: 26th (19.6)

Defensive rank: 8th (299.2)

Scoring defense: 12th (21.6)

NFC playoff picture: No. 11 seed

Minnesota's playoff probability percentage stands at less than one percent.

Quotable: "It's definitely reassuring," Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy told ESPN after throwing three touchdown passes with no turnovers in Minnesota's shutout win Sunday. "I always knew I had that and I always knew the potential is there. But I'm looking at it right now, and there's so many ways I could get better. I'm so far from where I want to be, so it's just great to get the win and grow in this game."

Twentyman: This Minnesota defense has a way of making offenses look pedestrian. They did it Week 9 in Detroit in a win over the Lions. They certainly did it Sunday against the Commanders, holding them to just 206 total yards with 17 quarterback pressures and 4.0 sacks. The Vikings will continue to go how McCarthy goes at quarterback. When he plays well and doesn't turn the football over, Minnesota can beat anyone. That will be a tough game in Minnesota on Christmas Day for the Lions on a short week.

Remaining schedule: at Dallas (6-6-1), at New York Giants (2-11), vs. Detroit (8-5), vs. Green Bay (9-3-1)
