Lions sign WR Andy Jones to active roster from practice squad

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed WR Andy Jones to the active roster from the practice squad. In addition, the Lions signed free agent LB Nicholas Grigsby to the practice squad.

Jones began the 2018 season on the club's Reserve/PUP list before being elevated to the active roster and appearing in the team's Week 9 contest at Minnesota. He came to the Lions in 2017 as a member of the practice squad following stints with the Houston Texans (2017) and Dallas Cowboys (2016). Jones originally entered the NFL in 2016 with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville.

Grigsby comes to Detroit after most recently spending time with the New England Patriots where he appeared in nine games with four tackles this season. He originally entered the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams out of Pittsburgh and appeared in six games with Los Angeles. His career totals include four tackles (three solo) in 20 games.
