Lions sign free agent WR Aaron Dobson, place Ameer Abdullah on reserve/injured

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent WR Aaron Dobson and placed RB Ameer Abdullah (foot) on Reserve/Injured.

Dobson joins the Lions receiving corps following a three-year stint with the New England Patriots (2013-15). He appeared in eight games (three starts) last season for New England and finished with 13 receptions for 141 yards.

Drafted by the Patriots in the second round (59th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Marshall, Dobson has played in 24 career games (13 starts). His career totals include 53 receptions for 698 yards and four touchdowns.

The Lions also announced today that they have signed LB Zaviar Gooden and RB George Winn to the practice squad and released G Chase Farrisand WR Isaac Fruechte from the practice squad.
