Lions place FB Nick Bawden on reserve-injured, sign LB Freddie Bishop

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have placed FB Nick Badwen (knee) on Reserve-Injured.

In addition, the Lions announced that they have signed LB Freddie Bishop and placed DE Ezekiel Ansah and WR Andy Jones on Active/Physically Unable to Perform. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.

Bishop comes to Detroit after spending the past two seasons (2016-17) with the New York Jets, where he appeared in five games in 2017 with 10 tackles and one fumble recovery. Prior to New York, Bishop spent three seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, appearing in 29 games during that span.

Entering his third NFL season, Bishop's career totals include 19 tackles (10 solo) and one fumble recovery in nine games played. He originally entered the League in 2013 with the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Western Michigan.
