Lions awarded LB Kasim Edebali via waivers from Denver

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have been awarded LB Kasim Edebali via waivers (from Denver) and have waived DE George Johnson.

Edebali comes to Detroit after most recently spending time with the Broncos where he appeared in nine games this season. Prior to this season, he spent three years (2014-16) with the New Orleans Saints, playing in 48 games with the two starts.  

Currently in his fourth season, Edebali's career totals include 41 tackles (30 solo), eight sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 57 games. He originally entered the NFL with the Saints in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Boston College.
