Lions awarded DE Romeo Okwara via waivers from New York Giants

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have been awarded DE Romeo Okwara via waivers from the New York Giants.

In addition, the Lions waived DE Anthony Zettel.

Okwara comes to the Lions after playing six games for the Giants in 2017, where he recorded three tackles. He originally entered the League as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Giants out of Notre Dame in 2016 and played in 16 games (four starts) with 21 tackles and 1.0 sack that year.
