Lions assigned G Zac Kerin and T Brian Mihalik via waivers

Allen Park, Mich. --The Detroit Lions announced today that they have been assigned G Zac Kerin (from Minnesota) and T Brian Mihalik (from Pittsburgh) via waivers.

In addition, the Lions announced today that they have waived T Cornelius Lucas and G Brandon Thomas.

Kerin joins the Lions following a three-year stint (2014-16) with the Minnesota Vikings where he appeared in 13 games during that span, including nine last season. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Toledo with the Vikings in 2014, where he spent the majority of his rookie season as a member of the practice squad.

Mihalik spent part of last season as a member of the Lions practice squad before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in October. He began his NFL career as a seventh-round (237th overall) draft selection with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 out of Boston College.
