Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today the following updates to the coaching staff:
HANK FRALEY – ASSISTANT OFFENSIVE LINE
Fraley joins the Lions having spent the past five seasons coaching offensive linemen in both the NFL and college ranks. He comes to Detroit after most recently serving as the offensive line coach at UCLA in 2017. Prior to UCLA, Fraley spent three seasons (2014-16) with the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff as an assistant offensive line coach following one year (2013) at San Jose State. He began his coaching career in 2012 as the offensive line coach at the University of San Diego. Fraley played 11 seasons in the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams) after entering the League as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He earned his degree in organizational leadership from Robert Morris University (Pa.).
EVAN ROTHSTEIN – HEAD COACH ASSISTANT/RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
Rothstein returns for his seventh season in Detroit and his first as the team's head coach assistant/research & analysis. He initially joined the Lions coaching staff in 2012 as a quality control and special teams assistant and most recently worked as an offensive and research & analysis assistant from 2015-17. Rothstein arrived in Detroit after spending two seasons (2010-11) as the offensive quality control coach at Syracuse. He began his coaching career at SUNY Cortland where he served as the student assistant offensive line coach, quality control and director of video operations from 2006-09.
