Lions sign unrestricted free agent TE Luke Willson

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent TE Luke Willson. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Willson comes to Detroit after spending five seasons (2013-17) with the Seattle Seahawks. He played in 16 games (seven starts) in 2017 and finished with 15 receptions for 153 yards and a career-high four touchdowns.

Drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Rice University, Willson has played in 72 career games (37 starts). A native of LaSalle, Ontario, his career totals include 89 receptions for 1,129 yards and 11 touchdowns, as well as 13 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown in nine career postseason games. He was a member of Seattle's Super Bowl XLVIII win over Denver following the 2013 season.
