Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent QB Teddy Bridgewater. Contract terms were not disclosed.
Entering his 12th NFL season, Bridgewater returns for his third stint in Detroit after previously spending time with the team in the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. In his career, he has played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2025), Miami Dolphins (2022), Denver Broncos (2021), Carolina Panthers (2020), New Orleans Saints (2018-19) and Minnesota Vikings (2014-17). He originally entered the NFL with the Vikings as a first-round selection (32nd overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Louisville.
In 83-career games (65 starts), Bridgewater has completed 1,380-of-2,082 passes (66.3 percent) for 15,182 yards and 75 touchdowns with a 90.3 passer rating. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2015, and in 2014 he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. In 2020, Bridgewater was recognized as the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award winner for outstanding sportsmanship on the playing field.
