OTAs and minicamp gave us a glimpse at what the Detroit Lions' starting roster will look like in the fall, but training camp is where most jobs and roles are won and lost.
Which position battle are you looking forward to most? I asked the Detroitlions.com crew, and here's what they had to say:
Tim Twentyman: Secondary
The battles for starting jobs, playing roles and roster spots in the secondary are going to be really fun to watch. Carlton Davis III, Terrion Arnold, Brian Branch, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Amik Robertson, Emmanuel Moseley, Kindle Vildor and others are all in the mix for three starting spots and a couple rotational roles.
Could Branch play more safety in 2024 and make that a competition to watch with Kerby Joseph and Ifeatu Melifonwu? I think it will be really interesting to see how the competition in the back end of Detroit's defense plays out.

Dannie Rogers: Secondary
I cannot wait to see the secondary battle play out. We can all make assumptions on who will get the start based on veteran status and stats, but it will truly come down to who wants it more when training camp starts.
I think the only safe assumption is that you'll see Carlton Davis III in a starting spot, but as for the nickel battle and who lines up opposite Davis, that will be a question for camp.

Editor's Pick: Wide receiver
I third the secondary, but I'm also interested to see how things go at wide receiver. Amon-Ra St. Brown is the clear No. 1 and all signs point to Jameson Williams getting the opportunity to be No. 2, but how does it shake out after that? The Lions kept five wide receivers on their initial 53-man roster last year.
Kalif Raymond has proven time and time again you can't count him out, and the team liked what they saw from Donovan Peoples-Jones enough to bring him back. Will one of the undrafted rookie receivers make a splash in camp? How does Antoine Green look in Year 2? Will GM Brad Holmes add to the position before the start of the season?
All things I'm looking forward to watching in training camp.
