INACTIVES: Lions at Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. – After an offseason of change and six long weeks of training camp, the Detroit Lions kick off their pursuit of the franchise's first Super Bowl with a division matchup Week 1 in Green Bay.

Week 1 means the first inactive list for a Detroit roster that is pretty healthy heading into the season. Running back Sione Vaki (hamstring) and linebacker Trevor Nowaske (elbow) are Detroit's only two injury-related inactives today. Both players sat out practice all week and were ruled out on Friday's injury report.

Joining Vaki and Nowaske on Detroit's inactive list are safety Thomas Harper, defensive lineman Chris Smith, defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo, and edge rusher Tyrus Wheat.

Harper and Wheat have only been with the Lions for a little over a week after signing with the team following roster cut-down day.

Wingo, who tore his meniscus on Thanksgiving last season, only returned to the field for the final week of training camp.

"Where Wingo has come, call it a week and half, has been pretty impressive," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said this week. "I was like, 'OK, this guy is further along than I thought he would be coming back.'"
