DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE 100 MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATIONS?

Ford Field underwent $100 million dollars in exciting renovations this past offseason. One of the first things fans will notice when coming into Ford Field for the 2017 season is the brand new videoboard displays in each endzone and around the stadium.

In each endzone, the main videoboards are now more than twice the size of the old videoboards and measure 39.5 feet high by 152 feet wide. Flanking the main videoboards will be four additional displays measuring 13 feet high by 59 feet wide that can be used individually or coordinated with the main videoboards for one continuous 270-foot presentation to show live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. All five of the displays will feature a 13HD pixel layout, Daktronics' premier technology, to ensure vibrant, crisp imagery with wide angle visibility. Additionally, there will be displays mounted to Ford Field's super columns and ribbon boards mounted along the fascia of Gate A and the main seating bowl.

DID YOU KNOW WE NOW HAVE CLOSED CAPTIONING AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS DURING HOME GAMES?

The Lions have teamed up with Home Team Captions to provide closed captioning for deaf and hard of hearing guests during home games. Closed captioning of the public address system is available on the Lions' official mobile app by clicking on the Game Day tab. Guests can use their personal smartphones or stop by the Guest Services locations to loan out a tablet on game day starting in the regular season. The program will start running automatically. Guests can change the font, font size, color and background, if needed. Follow these steps to access the system:

DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE A NEW GATHERING SPACE NAMED SOCIAL AT GATE D?

All guests can enjoy this brand new social gathering space at Gate D Level 1 Section 128/129. The Social Area includes entertainment, comfortable chairs, and televisions for guests to hang out with their friends and fellow fans. There will also be singers on stage and plenty of craft beer and cocktails.

DID YOU KNOW WE UPDATED AND CHANGED THE NAME OF CORNER LOUNGE TO CORNER BAR AND GRILLE?

The Corner Bar at Section 224 has been completely revamped and is open to all guests on Lions game day! Drawing themes from when the Lions played home games at "The Corner" (Michigan & Trumbull) in Briggs Stadium (which would later become Tiger Stadium), this brand new space is sure to delight any fan. With gourmet burgers, including "build-your-own" burgers, and other new favorites such as the gigantic house made pretzel, the Corner Bar will satisfy almost any appetite on game day!

DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE CELL PHONE CHARGING STATIONS?

Guests can safely and conveniently charge their phones while enjoying the game in a secure charging station locker. Guests can visit Guest Services with any questions.

A swipe of a credit card is required to open and close the locker at a rate of $0.20 per minute with a maximum of $5.99. Adapters for Apple, Android, Blackberry & Windows cell phones are in each locker.

DID YOU KNOW THE NFL BAG POLICY HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR FOUR YEARS?

In accordance with NFL Security Guidelines, the only bags, packages, or containers permitted to be carried by fans as the approach the stadium are as follows:

Bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and does not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (ziploc bag or similar)

Small clutch bag, camera and binocular cases, not exceeding 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a hand or strap

  • Exceptions may be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN TAKE THE QLINE TO FORD FIELD?

Owned and operated by M-1 Rail, the QLine can place fans very close to Ford Field. With a 6.6-mile circulating streetcar loop serving 12 stops on Woodward Ave. from Downtown Detroit through Midtown, New Center and the North End, Ford Field guests can find a station conveniently located near almost any parking facility along Woodward Ave. The QLine opened to the public on May 12, 2017.

The QLine fare for a day pass is $3.00 which allows unlimited rides on the QLine for a consecutive 24 hours from time of purchase. Ticket vending machines are available at every station. Normal weekday operation hours are 6am-11pm Monday-Thursday, 6am-12am on Friday, 8am-12am on Saturday and 8am-8pm on Sunday. On occasion, special events or other activities may lead to extended QLine service hours or additional vehicles added to existing service to support anticipated demand. DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE NEW SMOKING LOCATIONS?

Smoking is NO LONGER available on the 2nd floor Gate D Smoking Deck, as this is now a part of the Comerica Gridiron Club.

During the entire game:

  • Gate D Level 1 - Section 128/129 (NEW: out Gate D to the right by the ADA Ramp)

30 Minutes after kickoff:

  • Gate A - outside on the deck above the Ticket Office. Access through the Executive Entrance (weather permitting)
  • Gate E – Section 224/225

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WINDSOR TUNNEL SHUTTLE BUS?

The Tunnel Bus, operated by Transit Windsor, offers transportation between downtown Windsor and Detroit for Lions regular season home games & most pre-season games and large events. The pick-up location after the game is at the Gratiot and Antietam bus stop, just East of Ford Field near I-375. Direct guests to exit Gate G and turn right. Head east on Gratiot. Buses will pick up at this location up to 60 minutes post game (overtime included) or event. A second pick up area is located at the Tunnel Plaza, just south of Mariner's Church, 170 E Jefferson Ave, near the Renaissance Center. This location has shuttle service every half hour, ending at midnight. Due to traffic congestion in downtown Detroit, Transit Windsor may shorten the route in Detroit. To avoid lengthy delays, customers should walk over to the tunnel plaza (south of Mariner's Church), to board a bus.

A round trip ticket on the Tunnel Bus is $10. Guests do not need a roundtrip ticket to board a tunnel bus in Detroit to go back to Canada. For guests looking to make a one way return trip to Canada, they may pay $5 in cash at one of the bus pick up locations. DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FIRST LIONS GAME CERTIFICATES AND BUTTONS?

Children 14 years of age and under can now get a First Lions Game Certificate at Ford Field. The certificates are free of charge and available at the Guest Services Desks at Gate C Section 236, Gate G Section 112, and South Club West. Certificates are free of charge and will be available throughout the game at these locations. Children must be present at the Guest Service Desk to receive a certificate. All Guest Service Desks will have First Game Buttons that they can give out to first time children at Ford Field. DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN HIRE ROARY?

Roary is the Detroit Lions mascot and available for both public and private appearances. Roary may also visit a guests' seats on a Lions' home game day as long as the appearance is coordinated 2 weeks prior to game day. Roary may also be found pre-game at the Cub Club Zone at Section 347. Roary is available for special events in the State of Michigan. Interested parties should complete and submit a Roary Appearance Request Form at www.DetroitLions.com/youthprograms/book-roary.html. Roary can also be reached via e-mail at Roary@lions.nfl.net.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN PURCHASE A PERSONALIZED MESSAGE ON THE VIDEOBOARD?

The Detroit Lions are happy to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and congratulations with their fans at home games. For a $100 donation to the Detroit Lions Charities, guests can purchase either a Happy Birthday or personalized message to appear on the south videoboard during halftime of a Lions game at Ford Field. Messages must be submitted by the end of the day Wednesday, or sooner, unless otherwise indicated. Text Assist is a text messaging service that enables Ford Field guests to communicate directly and interactively with Ford Field's Operations staff to report issues related to safety, security and customer satisfaction. If a guest would like to report an issue they can use their mobile phone to text "LIONS" with Issue and Location to 69050. Stadium operations personnel will respond to the request via text message

Text "Request" with Location to 69050If a guest would like to request a wheelchair during the game or event they can now use their mobile phone to text "Request" with location to 69050. Standard message and data rates may apply.

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE MOTHER'S NURSING ROOMS?

Ford Field now has two Mother's Nursing/Breastfeeding Rooms. The original Nursing Room is located on Level 4 of the South Suites, across from the Beacon/Beaubien Elevators.  Mothers without Club or Suite tickets should first visit Gate A Guest Services at Section 100 to receive a pass that allows entrance to the South Suites level. The room is equipped with comfortable chairs, a baby changing table and a flat screen television. The new Nursing Room is located at Gate B by Section 133. This Nursing Room is across from the Gate B Guest Service desk. For entry or assistance on game or event day, guests will check in at Gate B Guest Services.

DID YOU KNOW COMERICA BANK CARD HOLDERS NOW HAVE A SEPARATE  ENTRANCE?

The Comerica Entrance for Comerica Bank Credit and Debit Card holders is located at the Brush Street roll up door near Gate A. Only guests who show a Comerica Bank Card can use this entrance.

DID YOU KNOW  UBER  HAS A PICK-UP LOCATION?

The Uber pickup and drop-off point is located along the southbound W Fisher Service Drive, between Brush and John R. The closest Ford Field Gates to Uber are Gates B & C. Guests must first download the Uber app through their smart phone's App Store and request an Uber pick up prior to arriving at the pickup point.

DID YOU KNOW FORD FIELD HAS WIFI?

WiFi is available to all guests with mobile smartphone devices regardless of cell service provider. The new WiFi system has quadrupled capacity and new antennas throughout the bowl which will mean a better overall fan experience when browsing, posting and streaming content while at Ford Field. Guests entering the perimeter of the stadium can connect to stadium WiFi by selecting 'Ford Field WiFi' and accepting the terms and conditions on the authentication page through their mobile browser. Many existing Verizon customers will automatically be authenticated, depending on their mobile device and operating system. In order to access the network, users will be required to disable personal mobile hotspots on their device while connected to Ford Field WiFi.

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE DESIGNATED DRIVER PROGRAM?

Guests who are 21 years and older can sign up for the Designated Driver Program at the nearest Guest Services location during Lions home games. Guests sign up to pledge not to consume alcoholic beverages and provide responsible transportation for their group members. The stub can be used at any Streats of Detroit concession stand for a free small soft drink or at any Turf Tavern for a non-alcoholic beer. Turf Taverns are located at Sections 105, 128 ,132 & 236. Pledge forms can be filled out up until halftime of a Lions home game.  All pledge forms must be turned into Gate A Guest Services at Section 100 by the end of halftime. One winner will be called by the announcer to win a prize. Please direct the winner to Gate A Guest Services Desk at Section 100.

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE KIDS POST-GAME TOUCHDOWN RUN?

After most Detroit Lion's home games this season, kid's ages 5 to 14 can score a touchdown on the field and receive a complimentary mini football (while supplies last). To participate, line up at the lower concourse Level 1 behind Section 127 immediately following the game.

Join us for the DTE Energy Power Hour before every home game! Starting at gates opening and lasting one hour (unless otherwise posted), the DTE Energy Power Hour gives fans the opportunity to participate in tailgating games and activities and enjoy food and drink specials.

Activities include:

• Roar-Aoke and the Cash Machine at the Gate A Atrium Section 100

• Spin It To Win It and the One Pride Wheel at the Blitz Level 2 above Gate A

The DTE Energy Power Hour takes place in Blitz, featuring Miller and Miller Lite, (formerly The Breadstick) on Level 2 above the Gate A Atrium Section 100 and the Bud Light Party Zone, featuring Budweiser and Bud Light, at Section 239. Fans who enter Ford Field during the DTE Energy Power Hour will also have the opportunity to receive the giveaway of the game, while supplies last. The gate giveaway will end when all items have been distributed or the DTE Energy Power Hour ends.
