After a dominant 34-10 win over the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions travel to Paycor Stadium to face another AFC North opponent in the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. Detroit heads into the contest 3-1, while the Bengals sit at 2-2.
Last week: The Bengals fell to the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, 28-3. After a 26-yard field goal in the first quarter, Cincinnati went scoreless in the remaining 54 minutes.
History: Cincinnati leads the all-time series, 10-3. In their last meeting in 2021, the Bengals defeated the Lions 34-11. The Lions have lost their last seven meetings and are looking for their first win over Cleveland since 1992.
Storyline to watch: The Bengals have shown a scoring disparity between the first two and the previous two weeks of the season with the loss of quarterback Joe Burrow. In Cincinnati's Week 2 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Burrow exited the game with a turf toe injury and is expected to be out for at least three months.
Under Burrow, Cincinnati combined for 48 points in Weeks 1-2, allowing their opponents 43. Over the past two weeks with backup Jake Browning at quarterback, the Bengals scored just 13 points and allowed 76.
"I've seen the best of Jake. I know that we can do a great job supporting him to where he can go win games for us," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said this week. "I feel extremely confident in Jake Browning."
