DETROIT – Lions' lineman Kenny Wiggins partnered with Strikes For Kids to host a charity bowling event in Fresno this past Tuesday before preparing to leave for training camp. Strikes For Kids is a national 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that organizes charity golf and bowling events with over 125 NBA and NFL players to provide local businesses, fans, and families with an opportunity to meet professional athletes and contribute to the community at the same time.

This year, Strikes For Kids prepared the Strikes For Kids Bowling Classic to give everyone a chance to enjoy bowling and give back to the community as well. The event provided 125 backpacks filled with school supplies to children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County. A silent auction was also held.

Strikes For Kids has already hosted more than 100 events nationally. The organization's goal in organizing the event was to provide the community with an exciting bowling event that will make a significant difference. What's exciting about the event is that is was hosted by Kenny Wiggins, Detroit Lions' football guard.

Wiggins played high school football at Elk Grove High before moving onto college football at Fresno State. Wiggins signed a two-year deal with the Detroit Lions on March 15, 2018. Participants of the event were able to meet not only Wiggins, but other bowling enthusiasts and athletes. The even had 178 bowlers in its inaugural year. Today it attracts NBA and NFL players and fans who want to give back to the community and enjoy a good game as well.
