The pro day circuit comes to a conclusion this week as teams make their final preparations for the NFL Draft set to take place in Dallas later this month.
Of the final pro days taking place this week, two of them could very much interest the Detroit Lions.
**Boise State, Tuesday, April 3
**
Who to watch: The Lions and general manager Bob Quinn have been on the lookout in free agency for bigger linebackers that better fit Matt Patricia's defensive schemes. Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (6-4, 256) certainly fits the mold, if Quinn is still on the lookout for adding to the position in the draft. The first-team all-conference pick totaled 141 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups and four forced fumbles. He's got some versatility to his game, which Patricia likes in his defenders.
Also keep an eye on: WR Cedrick Wilson
LSU, Wednesday, April 4
Who to watch: Derrius Guice is one of the top two or three running backs available in this draft. Even with the signing of LeGarrette Blount, 31, in free agency, the Lions could be looking to add another young, power back to their running back room. Guice is a strong runner with good speed, who ran for more than 1,200 yards in each of the last two seasons at LSU with 26 total touchdowns.
Also keep an eye on: WR D.J. Chark, C Will Clapp, QB Danny Etling, CB Donte Jackson, DE/OLB Arden Key, G K.J. Malone, CB Kevin Toliver, OT Toby Weathersby and RB Darrel Williams.
