How he fits: Charlton has ideal size to play opposite Ziggy Ansah along Detroit's defensive front. He has a rare combination of size, length and agility. He garnered first-team All-Big Ten honors this past season after leading Michigan with 9.5 sacks. He also had 13 tackles for loss. He tallied a sack in seven of his final 10 games including at lease one in each of Michigan's last four contests.

The Lions have Ansah, Kerry Hyder, Cornelius Washington, Brandon Copeland and Anthony Zettel currently under contract at the position. They could certainly use one or more talented youngsters to add to that mix.
