Name: Dalvin Cook
Position: Running back
School: Florida State
Ht/Wt: 5-10, 210
40 dash: 4.49
Bench: 22 reps
Vertical: 30.5
Broad: 116.0 inches

20-yard shuttle: 4.53 seconds
How he fits: The Lions have really done a nice job bolstering their offensive line and tight end positions when it comes to improving their run blocking. Detroit finished 30th in rushing last year. Lions general manager Bob Quinn could next opt to pair another runner with Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, Zach Zenner and others.
Cook would bring instant home-run potential (10 career runs of 50-plus yards) to Detroit's backfield. He has a rare combination of strength, quickness, burst and vision that resulted in him finishing sixth in the FBS in rushing in 2015 with 1,691 yards, and fifth this past season with 1,765 yards. He scored 19 touchdowns in each of the last two seasons.
Watching some of his film, he's a much stronger runner than some might give him credit for. He runs with both strength and speed.
Key observations: Cook has already undergone three shoulder surgeries, though he said at the Combine he passed the team medicals in regard to his shoulder.
What they had to say about him: "Who knows what type of NFL resume Cook will accumulate and if it will come close to (Marshall) Faulk's storied career. But the on-field talent is similar from the size to the athleticism and the versatility to be an offensive weapon." – Dane Brugler, CBSSports.com
How he stacks up: CBSSports.com lists Cook as the best RB available in a very deep class. ESPN's Todd McShay and Mel Kiper Jr. both list Cook as the second-best back available after Leonard Fournette. NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock has Cook third on his list behind Fournette and Christian McCaffrey. Cook is 10th on Scouts Inc.'s Top 32 Big Board.
What he had to say: "I think what separates me is I can do it all. I can stay on the field all three downs. I'm just a do-it-all back and I feel like I am the best back in this class."
