O head coach do Detroit Lions, Dan Campbell, falou com a imprensa na segunda-feira enquanto os Lions se preparam para o encerramento da temporada regular em Chicago contra o Bears, no domingo, às 16h25.

Qual é a mentalidade no Meijer Performance Center nesta semana indo para o último jogo da temporada?
Toda temporada, todo time é diferente, e esta será a última semana em que a versão 2025 do Detroit Lions estará junta. Campbell disse na segunda-feira que esse fato não passou despercebido por ele.
"Não estamos onde queríamos estar faltando um jogo", disse ele. "Mas, ao mesmo tempo, esse grupo de caras se entregou totalmente, veio trabalhar todos os dias e se esforçou ao máximo, então, na verdade, você tem mais um jogo para não decepcionar o cara ao seu lado."
Com apenas um jogo restante no calendário, mesmo com os playoffs fora da equação, Campbell espera que todos os jogadores e treinadores façam sua parte nesta semana, se preparando para jogar em Chicago no domingo e enfrentar o Bears com competitividade.
"Temos mais um", disse ele. "Não, não estamos jogando pelos playoffs, mas ainda há coisas que podemos descobrir. E espero que os caras que estão aqui deem tudo o que têm mais uma vez."
Campbell disse que ainda estará avaliando muita coisa no domingo, incluindo como os jogadores atuam sabendo que não há nada além daquele jogo em jogo. Algumas dessas avaliações da Semana 18 podem ter implicações na offseason, quando os Lions começarem a montar o elenco de 2026.
Onde Campbell quer ver uma evolução no nível de jogo para encerrar a temporada?
"Há muitas áreas, mas eu provavelmente começaria pela Linha Ofensiva", disse ele. "Só quero ver um pouco mais, só um pouquinho melhor. Ver se conseguimos polir algumas coisas, trabalhar juntos, ajustar nossas combinações um pouco melhor."
Falando da Linha Ofensiva, como Campbell avaliou o desenvolvimento do Guard novato Tate Ratledge?
Ratledge foi titular em 16 jogos como Right Guard e jogou mais de 1.000 snaps, o maior número entre todos os novatos do elenco. Campbell disse que viu evolução em Ratledge, que permitiu um sack e nove quarterback hits nesta temporada, e isso é exatamente o que um treinador quer ver de jogadores de primeiro ano que recebem muito tempo de jogo logo no início da carreira.
Ainda há muito espaço para crescimento para Ratledge, e ele precisará dar mais um passo à frente entrando em sua segunda temporada, em 2026. Campbell disse que mover Ratledge para Center no próximo ano não está fora de cogitação e vai depender do que acontecer nesta offseason.

Todo o elenco estará disponível no domingo contra o Bears?
Haverá uma avaliação ao longo da semana dos jogadores que lidam com lesões, e Campbell disse que provavelmente a equipe será mais cautelosa com jogadores que aparecerem como questionáveis no relatório de lesões de sexta-feira.
Se um jogador for poupado por causa de lesão, será a vez do próximo jogador, e eles não vão forçar a utilização de jogadores mais jovens que não tiveram tantas oportunidades nesta temporada.
Como o Bears mudou desde a vitória do Detroit por 52-21 sobre Chicago em Detroit, na Semana 2?
Segundo Campbell, Chicago está muito mais polido em ambos os lados da bola.
Desde aquele confronto da Semana 2, o Bears lidera a liga em turnovers forçados (32), o que tem sido um grande catalisador em muitas das vitórias apertadas que tiveram neste ano. O saldo de turnovers de Chicago, de +22, é o melhor da liga e oito a mais que o de Houston, que tem +14.
"Eles estão forçando turnovers", disse Campbell. "É como falamos, isso é contagiante."
No ataque, Campbell disse que alguns dos pequenos erros que existiam na Semana 2 desapareceram à medida que o time ficou mais confortável com o esquema do head coach do Bears, Ben Johnson.
Campbell afirmou que o jogo terrestre e o play action a partir dele têm funcionado muito bem em conjunto com um bom desempenho da Linha Ofensiva. Será um grande desafio para a defesa do Detroit.
