School assemblies & after school PROGRAMS

The Detroit Lions Football Education Department presents an exciting, interactive character education initiative entitled “Lions Leaders for Life:  Lead One, Lead All”, designed to teach students grades  K – 6 not only what it takes to be a successful leader in life, but also how to maintain a healthier lifestyle.   Discussion about being a successful leader revolves around the Lions Leadership List, a list of six character traits one needs to have to be successful.

With our theme of “Lead One, Lead All” students will learn to:

  • "Lead One" - is described as an individual who leads oneself down the right path by making wise choices at home, in school, on the field and in the community.  Emphasis is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle through fueling one’s body properly and being active for a minimum of 60 minutes each day.
  • "Lead All" - is described as an individual who works on developing leadership qualities in all facets of life through their interactions with others.  Learning how to lead oneself down the right path through making wise choices will assist in leading others, which will help a child to become more positive, confident and more successful when confronted with an opportunity to lead.

The objective of the assembly is to utilize the sport of football and our Detroit Lions’ Mascot Roary as an avenue to convey the “Lead One, Lead All” message in a fun and educational forum.
