Lions Legends: Stories of the 1991 season

Take a look back at the playing and broadcasting career of Lomas Brown. Drafted in 1985, Lomas Brown played eleven seasons for the Detroit Lions as well as earning seven pro bowls throughout his eighteen-year career.

This installment of Lions Legends celebrates the career of former defensive back, Lem Barney. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992, Lem Barney played his entire 11-season career (1967-77) for the Lions earning seven Pro Bowl bids. The defensive back intercepted 56 passes and recovered 17 fumbles in 140 career games, with 11 total touchdowns (7 INT, 2 PR, 1 KR, 1 FGR). A versatile athlete, Barney also served as the Lions' punter for two seasons.

This installment of Lions Legends celebrates the career of former linebacker & head coach, Joe Schmidt. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1973, Schmidt played his entire 13-season career (1953-65) for the Lions earning 10 consecutive Pro Bowl honors (1955-64). The linebacker played 155 games totaling 24 interceptions and 17 fumble recoveries with three defensive touchdowns. He went on to become head coach of the Lions from 1967-1972.

This installment of Lions Legends celebrates the life of former defensive back, William White. Drafted by the Lions in the 4th round of the 1988 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, White played 6 seasons in Detroit (1988-1993) and appeared in 95 games (79 starts) for the club producing 450 tackles with 13 interceptions along the way.
