On August 5, 2026, Richard Haddad was named the new Lions President and CEO. Prior to the Lions, Haddad served as Executive VP & Chief Operating Officer for Pistons Sports & Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons.

In his previous role, Haddad oversaw business operations, affairs and development for all PSE companies and properties, with a focus on enterprise growth, operational excellence, strategic partnerships and planning, government affairs, as well as real estate, financing, investment and media rights initiatives. He also led PSE's involvement in, and served as a board member for, 313 Presents and its venues and properties, including Little Caesars Arena, the Fox Theatre, DTE Energy Music Theatre, Freedom Hill Amphitheatre and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

During his 14+ years with the Pistons organization, Haddad was instrumental in structuring and negotiating the organization's move from The Palace Auburn Hills to Little Caesars Arena in 2017, the formation of PSE's joint venture with Olympia Entertainment on 313 Presents, the construction and opening of the Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center in 2019, the purchase and launch of the NBA G League's Motor City Cruise and the development of the newly-constructed Wayne State Fieldhouse. More recently, he helped lead the organization's efforts to bring a WNBA team back to Detroit.

Prior to joining PSE in 2012, Haddad practiced law at Proskauer Rose LLP, in New York, where he represented a broad base of corporate and individual clients in sports, finance, media, entertainment, aviation, real estate, and other sectors and industries. He also served as law clerk to Judge Barbara S. Jones of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The Adrian, Mich. native was honored by the Sports Business Journal as one its 2022 "40 Under 40" recipients, recognizing influential sports executives under the age of 40. Haddad is an active member of the Detroit community, volunteering his time to a number of philanthropic initiatives and serves as a board member for Midtown Detroit, Inc., the Cranbrook Academy of Art and Cranbrook Art Museum, and the Children's Foundation.

He earned his bachelor's degree in History from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School. Haddad and his wife, Adrienne Roberts, reside in Detroit.
