Dan Skipper joins the Lions as an offensive assistant in 2026, working primarily with the offensive line.
Prior to embarking on his coaching career, Skipper had an extensive playing career before retiring following the 2025 season. Originally signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas in 2017, Skipper played 69 games (16 starts) in stints with the Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts.
In 2024, Skipper became the fourth offensive lineman in Lions history to produce a touchdown reception. Skipper was also an active member of the NFLPA, serving as the Lions player rep on the board of player representatives.
Skipper is married to his wife, Mackenzie, and they have twin boys, Sam and Jones, and a daughter, Miller
