He also helped 2025 Second-Team AP All-Pro EDGE Aidan Hutchinson (14.5) and EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad (11.0) become only one-of-two pairs in the NFL to both reach at least 11.0 sacks in the season. It marked the second time in franchise history two teammates have achieved the feat, and first since 1983.

Collins joined Detroit after a five-season stint at Baylor, where he served as the team's outside linebackers coach from 2021-24 after originally joining the program as a defensive quality control coach in 2020.

Prior to his tenure at Baylor, Collins' first NCAA job came at LSU from 2018-19. After originally joining the Tigers as a defensive graduate assistant in 2018, he was promoted to a defensive analyst in 2019 en route to the team going 15-0 and capturing the CFP National Championship.

Collins began his coaching career in 2017, serving as an assistant coach at Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas.

A native of Houston, Texas, Collins played linebacker at Southeastern Louisiana from 2012-16.

He is married to his wife, Jerica, and they have one son, Carson.
