Lions sign three players to practice squad

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed LB Trevor Bates, C Leo Koloamatangi and RB Donnel Pumphrey to the team's practice squad. Contract terms were not disclosed.

In addition, the Lions announced that they have released S Rolan Milligan, LB Darnell Sankey and T Dan Skipper from the practice squad.

Bates returns to Detroit after playing in four preseason games in 2018, while recording nine tackles (five solo) and four total special teams tackles during that stint. He originally entered the NFL in 2016 after being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round (239th overall) out of Maine.

After originally signing with the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Hawaii in 2017, Koloamatangi returns to Detroit after playing in all four preseason games this season. He spent a majority of the 2017 season as a member of the Lions practice squad.

Pumphrey comes to the Lions after entering the NFL in 2017 with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent out of San Diego State.
