Lions sign TE Sean McGrath and waive TE Wes Saxton

Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today they have signed TE Sean McGrath and waived TE Wes Saxton. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Currently in his fourth season, McGrath comes to Detroit after spending the past two seasons (2016-17) with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he played in 31 games (11 starts) during that span. He appeared in 15 games (six starts) for the Chargers last season and finished with four receptions for 46 yards.

McGrath originally entered the NFL in 2012 with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Henderson State. In 49 career games (20 starts), he has recorded 32 receptions for 373 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
