September Crew of the Month
MOTOR CITY AREA OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION
This crew is highly deserving of Crew of the Month recognition for its longstanding commitment to excellence, professionalism, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With a strong balance of veteran and newer officials, the crew has worked together for years and has collectively officiated 10 state finals, 9 semifinals, and more than 50 district finals. The crew's Referee has also been honored with the Michigan Vernon Norris Award, the most distinguished award given to an MHSAA official.
What truly sets this crew apart is its dedication to continuous improvement. Each Wednesday, the crew conducts extensive 90-minute meetings to review game film, evaluate plays, identify errors, and strengthen overall crew performance. Their commitment to preparation, accountability, and being the best crew they can be is evident every time they take the field. These crew members are all active in their local officials association. They recruit new officials and mentor them providing feedback, bringing them to varsity games, and inviting them to film review. For all these reasons, and more, this crew deserves to be honored as the Crew of the Month!
