About Touchdown In Your Town
- The program supports high school football programs around the state of Michigan and is in year two of also benefitting cheer programs, both broadening the reach to student athletes and further growing the game.
- The Lions have partnered with the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) and Planet Fitness to provide additional support to the selected schools and their student athletes.
- Planet Fitness will renovate a school weight room for at least one selected program.
- The Touchdown in Your Town program has invested more than $800,000 since 2019.Football and Cheer programs applied for support earlier this spring through an online application at www.detroitlions.com and submissions were reviewed by a committee comprised of members from the Lions organization and partners.
- This program is a key pillar to the Lions $5,000,000 investment in youth sports throughout the community.
- The Detroit Lions Foundation is changing the game for Lions communities by investing in strategic partnerships to empower youth for lasting, transformative change with a focus in our hometown of Detroit. Through fundraising, grant making and events, we seek a Lions community in which all youth can achieve their fullest potential.
