NFL Grassroots Grant Check
The Flint Sports Complex will get a new synthetic turf field, thanks in part to a $250,000 grant by the Detroit Lions through the National Football League (NFL) Foundation Grassroots Program.
The grant from the Lions, the NFL Foundation, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village is part of $3 million in field refurbishment awards allocated in 2020.
