Biography

Detroit's fifth round pick in 2016 who added youth to the offensive line as a reserve in his rookie season alongside fellow draft classmates T Taylor Decker and G/C Graham Glasgow.

COLLEGE

Played in a variety of roles along the offensive line at Washington State. Started all 34 games he played in. Was widely recognized as one of the top offensive linemen in the Pac-12 each year and by his senior season was considered one of the top offensive linemen in the country.

2015: Only played in nine games due to injury, but started in each one. Was named All-Pac-12 and garnered Second Team All-America honors from USA Today. Was named the top offensive lineman in college football by Pro Football Focus. Was a staple on an offensive line that led the nation in passing with 389.5 yards per game.

  • Earned WSU’s “BONE” award, given to the top lineman each week, following Rutgers and Sun Bowl wins.

2014: Started all 12 games at left tackle. Was named Pac-12 Honorable Mention and All-Pac-12 Third Team by Phil Steele Magazaine.

  • Was named a team captain twice against Rutgers and Oregon State.
  • Earned six “BONE” awards, leading the team over the course of the season.
  • Was selected as WSU’s Mike Utley Offensive Lineman of the Year.

2013: Started all 13 games, 12 at left guard and once at left tackle.

  • Made the switch to left tackle against Colorado State in the New Mexico Bowl.

2012: Sat out due to NCAA transfer rules.

PERSONAL

Three-year letterwinner in both football and basketball at University High School in Spokane. Only Spokane-area player to be named All-Greater Spokane League First Team. Selected first team all-state at defensive end.
