COLLEGE:

  • Started all 37 games possible during his three seasons at Cal and is the only quarterback in school history to have ever started his first game as a true freshman.
    • Holds 26 Cal records including career marks for passing yards (12,220), passing yards per game (329.7), touchdown passes (96), completions (977), passing attempts (1,569), total offense (12,086) and total plays (1,739).
    • Second on the school's all-time list for passing efficiency (143.95) behind only Aaron Rodgers.
    • Broke Pac-12 career records with an average of 326.6 yards of total offense per game as well as three seasons of gaining 3,000 or more total yards.
    • Cal's Most Outstanding Player in a Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl victory over Air Force as a junior in the final game of his collegiate career when he set the bowl's single-game records by passing for 467 yards and six touchdowns to lead Cal to its first bowl victory since 2008.

PERSONAL:

  • Named the NFLPA's Community MVP in Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season.
  • Prepped at Marin Catholic High School (Calif.) and passed for a combined 7,687 yards and 93 touchdowns with 18 interceptions in three varsity seasons from 2010-12.
  • Father, Jerry, was a catcher who played Major League Baseball with Montreal (1990, 1992), Pittsburgh (1993-94) and Detroit (1995-96) following his collegiate baseball career at Cal that included All-America, All-District 8 and All-Pac-10 honors in 1986.
  • Majored in sociology at Cal.
