Lindsay Verstegen enters her second season with the Lions as Chief People and Diversity Officer after coming to Detroit midway through the 2021 season. In her role, Verstegen leads all People and Diversity efforts, working closely with organizational leadership to develop their people and create thoughtful diversity, inclusion, and belonging strategies.
Prior to joining the Lions, Verstegen worked for over a decade in hiring and talent within the technology Industry. Most recently she served as Chief People Officer at ShopRunner in Chicago. In that role, she guided changes that made the workplace one of the most diverse and inclusive in the industry. ShopRunner sold to FedEx at the close of 2020.
Verstegen spent four years at Braintree and Venmo from 2013-17, half of that time as part of PayPal, which acquired the companies in 2013. She led Hiring, Talent, and Onboarding for Braintree and Venmo and oversaw the diversity recruitment initiatives, globally, for PayPal.
She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a B.F.A. in musical theatre. Verstegen has been a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on Talent Strategy. She currently resides in metro Detroit with her husband, Tony, and their two sons, Vincent and Nicholas.
