Lindsay Verstegen enters her fourth season with the Lions as Chief People and Diversity Officer. In her role, Verstegen leads all People and Inclusion efforts, working closely with organizational leadership to develop people and create thoughtful diversity, inclusion and belonging strategies.
Prior to joining the Lions, Verstegen worked for over a decade in hiring and talent within the technology industry. Before moving to Detroit, Verstegen was Chief People Officer at ShopRunner in Chicago with teams in Philadelphia, New York and Krakow, Poland. In that role, she guided changes that made the workplace one of the most diverse and inclusive in the industry. ShopRunner sold to FedEx at the close of 2020.
Prior to ShopRunner, Verstegen spent four years at Braintree and Venmo where she led Hiring, Talent, and Onboarding for Braintree and Venmo and oversaw the diversity recruitment initiatives, globally, for PayPal.
She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Verstegen has been a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on Talent Strategy and has spoken locally and nationally on topics related to gender equity and nurturing healthy workplaces including the Grace Hopper Conference in Houston, SXSW in Austin and the Great Places To Work Conference in San Francisco. She currently resides in metro Detroit with her husband, Tony, and their two sons, Vincent and Nicholas and their two cats, Frankie and Studs.
