Dwayne Joseph enters his first season with the Lions in 2024, working as the club's Director of Scouting, after spending five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders as their Director of Pro Personnel. Before the Raiders, Joseph spent four seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles' Director of Pro Scouting.
With the Eagles, Joseph coordinated all aspects of the pro scouting department, including preparation for the free agency signing period, advance scouting of upcoming opponents, management of the NFL waiver wire and evaluation of all players in the NFL and other professional football leagues. He was on staff with the Eagles' Super Bowl LII Championship teams. Prior to joining Philadelphia, Joseph served three years in the Chicago Bears' front office. From 2013-14, Joseph served as the Bears' associate director of pro personnel after originally joining the club as its assistant director of pro scouting in 2012. Before his most recent stint with Chicago, Joseph was a pro scout for the Miami Dolphins from 2004-06 and 2008-2011. He was the Dolphins assistant director of pro personnel in 2007.
Joseph began his post-playing career in 1998 as the Chicago Bears coordinator of player programs. After serving in that role from 1998-2001, Joseph was promoted to director of player development and worked in that capacity until he left to pursue a scouting career with the Dolphins in 2004. During the 2015 offseason, Joseph represented the Bears at the NFL Career Development Symposium for coaches and front-office personnel. In 2005, he attended the NFL-Stanford Program on behalf of the Dolphins, and, in the 2007 offseason, he participated in the NFL Football Operations Personnel Symposium. He most recently participated in the inaugural NFL Ozzie Newsome General Manager Forum in 2021 and the NFL Front Office Accelerator in 2022 and 2023.
A four-year letterman at Syracuse, Joseph signed with the Bears in 1994 as an undrafted free-agent cornerback and appeared in 16 career games for the Bears, making one start and recording 42 tackles and an interception.
He earned a bachelor's degree in human development at Syracuse and also earned a master's degree in education leadership from DePaul University. A native of Miami, Joseph is married and has two sons.
