MCHS Family of Services is a comprehensive human services agency supporting children, families, and older adults throughout Michigan. We provide a wide range of programs including Child Welfare, Housing, Mental Health, Residential Treatment, Education, and Community Services—delivering care where it's needed most.

It all began in 1917, when two compassionate Methodist women came together to care for children orphaned by a devastating flu outbreak. That small act of kindness grew into what is now MCHS Family of Services. Today, our campuses in Redford, Detroit, and Mayville serve as home bases for healing—with cozy cottages, on-site schools, accessible camps, outdoor recreation, and therapeutic programs that help individuals and families thrive.

For over 100 years, our purpose has remained the same: to create safe, supportive spaces where children, families, and older adults feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for. As we grow, we continue to build brighter futures and stronger communities across Michigan.
