Jimmy Raye III enters his 25th season in the NFL and his second in the Lions player personnel department. He came to Detroit in 2018 after spending the 2017 season as the Vice President of Player Personnel and Assistant General Manager for the Houston Texans where he handled the day to day responsibilities in the player procurement process. Prior to his time in Houston, Raye worked as the Vice President of Football Operations for the Indianapolis Colts (2013-16). With the Colts, Raye oversaw a range of administrative and operational aspects of the organization, in addition to assisting with personnel matters regarding the roster, salary cap, free agency and the NFL Draft. While shaping the Colts college free agency process, Raye led the acquisition of 14 undrafted free agents who went on to play in at least one regular season game in their rookie seasons.
