Lions announce Season Launch Week with Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans

DETROIT— The Detroit Lions and Rocket Mortgage today announced "Season Launch Week" – a weeklong celebration prior to the team's home opener on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets on September 10. In the days leading up to kickoff, the Detroit Lions and Rocket Mortgage will build excitement throughout the community with surprise player appearances, special events, ticket giveaways and more.

Season Launch Week will culminate with the Detroit Lions Season Launch Party, presented by Rocket Mortgage, on Monday, September 10 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The event in Campus Martius Park will feature appearances by Lions mascot Roary, Detroit Lions Cheerleaders and legendary running back Barry Sanders. It will be headlined by current CMA "Vocal Group of the Year" nominee LANCO.

The Season Launch Party in Campus Martius Park will be a ticketed event for Detroit Lions Season Ticket Members and LANCO Fan Club Members.

Named "The Band to Watch" by _CMT, Entertainment Weekly, Pandora, Rolling Stone, Spotify, Sirius XM _and more, they've performed at the nation's largest festivals including _Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Faster Horses _and continue as support for Dierks Bentley's 2018 MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR.

The team has several community initiatives planned during Season Launch Week starting with a Back to School takeover at Detroit Lions Academy on Tuesday, September 4 – the first day of school. New backpacks, uniforms, shoes and school supplies will be provided along with appearances by Roary and Detroit Lions Cheerleaders.

The Lions will also be donating a new scoreboard to a local high school football team with a surprise visit to practice on Wednesday, September 5. The chosen high school football team will also be invited to attend the home opener, courtesy of the Lions and Rocket Mortgage.
