Kenny Golladay named to 2020 Pro Bowl

Kenny Golladay is headed to the Pro Bowl.

The third-year Lions wide receiver, who led the NFL with 11 touchdowns this season and produced his second consecutive 1,000-yard season (1,190), has made his first career Pro Bowl. He takes the place of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, who cannot participate due to injury.

Golladay's the first receiver in franchise history to produce two 1,000-yard seasons within his first three years in the NFL. His 17 receptions of 25-plus yards led the NFL and also tied for the second most a Lions player (Calvin Johnson, 2012) has produced in a single season since the data began being tracked in 1994.

Golladay's become one of the bright, young receivers in the NFL, a player who was able to follow up a breakout 2018 campaign with an impressive top-ten touchdown and receiving yards finish among his peers in 2019.

He put up those numbers playing with three different starting quarterbacks this season because of injuries.

"This is only the beginning, really," Golladay said late in December. "You know, still growing. I feel like I'm still getting better. I'm getting more and more confident each and every game and I feel good."

Among all NFL players since 1970, Golladay is only the fourth player to record at least 160 receptions, maintain a 16.5 receiving average and total 19 receiving touchdowns (Randy Moss, Jerry Rice and John Jefferson) through 42 career games.

He joins teammate Darius Slay as representatives for the Lions in this year's Pro Bowl. Slay is making his third straight appearance.

The Pro Bowl will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Jan 26.
