The Detroit Lions will be without their sack leader today in Arizona as they take on the Cardinals.
Veteran outside linebacker Devon Kennard leads Detroit with six sacks, but is inactive today after suffering a hip injury in the first half of last week's loss to the Rams.
Kennard didn't return for the second half last week. He practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday, but his hip obviously isn't healed enough that he can play today.
Expect Eli Harold and others to step up in Kennard's absence. The Lions need to apply pressure on Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen, who is playing behind a banged up offensive line with three rookie starters.
The Lions also won't have the services of starting running back Kerryon Johnson for a third straight week. Johnson was ruled out Friday with a left knee injury. Veteran LeGarrette Blount is likely to handle lead back duties again. He's rushed for 149 yards and a couple scores the last two weeks filling in for Johnson.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford will take his consecutive start streak to 125 games in Arizona. He was questionable coming in with a back injury and was limited in practice all week, but he's ready to go.
Joining Kennard and Johnson on Detroit's inactive list are: Defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr., cornerback Teez Tabor, tackle Andrew Donnal, wide receiver Brandon Powell and linebacker Trevor Bates.
