COLLEGE: A versatile defender, Follett began his Cal career as a middle linebacker, shifting to weak-side linebacker as a sophomore before finding a home on the strong-side his junior campaign. He closed out his career starting in 24 of 49 games and finished 10th on the school's tackle list with 245 hits, as his 13 forced fumbles set the school all-time record and tied the Pac-10 Conference mark. He also placed fifth in Cal annals with 51.0 stops behind the line of scrimmage that included 23.5 sacks, the sixth-best career total by a Golden Bears defender.

2008: Started all 13 games at strong-side linebacker, ranking second on the team with a career-high 87 tackles (58 solos), adding four QB pressures. Led the team with 10.5 sacks for minus 99 yards (tied for eighth on the school season-record list) and 23 stops for losses totaling 138 yards (tied for third in school season annals), as that totalled the Pac-10 and ranked third in the nation.

• Semi-finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, given to the country's best defensive player and was a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

• Also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown vs. Washington State.
• Deflected four passes. Named Game MVP vs. Stanford and in the Emerald Bowl vs. Miami.

2007: Started 10 of the 11 games he played in at strong-side linebacker. Recorded 64 tackles (39 solos) with three pressures, as the hard-hitting junior still managed to lead the team with 5.5 sacks for minus 36 yards and 12.5 stops for losses of 59 yards.

2006: Earned All-Pac 10 Conference honorable mention, despite starting just the Stanford clash at weak-side linebacker. Recorded 62 tackles (34 solos) while leading the Bears with 5.5 sacks for minus 28 yards and 12.5 stops for losses of 53 yards. Led the Pac-10 with four forced fumbles and registered one QB pressure. Also intercepted one pass and deflected two others.

2005: Earned first-team Freshman All-America honors from Saw action in every game, playing behind Desmond Bishop at middle linebacker. Accumulated a total of 32 tackles (25 solos), including three behind the line of scrimmage for losses of 16 yards and two sacks for minus 11 yards. Caused two fumbles, recovered another and had three pass deflections.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Clovis (Cal.) High School, where he was rated the ninth-best inside linebacker in the country by Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report during his senior year. For his career, he registered 360 tackles, 28 behind the line of scrimmage, 13 forced fumbles and seven sacks in his three seasons. After his senior season, he competed in the Cali-Florida Bowl.

• Named to The Fresno Bee's All-Valley first-team and chosen the Tri River Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year during his final campaign.
