Joined CB Alex Carter as the second Lions rookie cornerback to be drafted in 2015. Solidified the team’s nickel corner position in 2016 prior to his season-ending injury following a successful first NFL season in which he finished with 35 total tackles (28 solo), six pass defenses, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and three special teams tackles.

COLLEGE:
A four-year cornerback at Texas who played in 52 career games (49 starts) and ended his career tied for ninth on the Texas all-time list for interceptions (11), while his 37 career pass defenses are also tied for ninth in school history. Earned All-Big 12 honors three times (2011, 2013, 2014) and started 48 of his final 49 games. Did not miss a game in his Texas career.

2014: Earned 2014 First Team All-Big 12 honors from ESPN and was a second-team pick by the Associated Press and the league’s coaches. Was invited to the 2015 Senior Bowl following his final season at Texas where he finished with a career-high 73 total tackles (52 solo), two sacks, three interceptions, five pass defenses and one forced fumble in 13 games (13 starts).

  • Was a member of the watch list for the 2014 Chuck Bednarik, Jim Thorpe and Nagurski Trophy.
  • Had five tackles and an interception against BYU.
  • Posted three tackles, one sack and one interception against Kansas.
  • Named the team’s defensive player of the game following a five-tackle performance against Texas Tech. Also forced a fumble and recorded on pass breakup in the game.
  • Had a season-high nine tackles and one pass breakup against TCU.

2013: As a junior, played in all 13 games (12 starts) as the team’s cornerback/nickel. Ranked first on the team in pass defenses with 10 and was an Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selection.

  • Notched a season-high eight tackles, including one for a loss, one sack and one pass breakup against rival Oklahoma. Earned one of the team’s defensive player of the game awards for his performance in the game.
  • Registered six tackles, including one for a loss and a sack, in the win against TCU.
  • Posted four stops, one QB pressure and matched a career high with three pass defenses against Texas Tech.
  • Had five tackles, including one for a loss, in the Alamo Bowl against Oregon.

2012: Finished his sophomore campaign tied for sixth in the Big 12 in interceptions with four. Led the team in interceptions (four) and pass defenses (seven) and tied for fourth on the team in solo stops (39).

  • Grabbed a career-high two interceptions against Ole Miss, both of which led to touchdown drives for Texas.
  • Scored on a defensive two-point return after a blocked extra point attempt on the game’s first scoring drive.

2011: Named to the CBS Sports Freshman All-American team and was the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year. Also earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors from the conference’s coaches and Honorable Mention honors from the Associated Press. Tied a school freshmen record with his team-high four interceptions to go along with 51 tackles (33 solo), 15 pass defenses and two forced fumbles.

  • As a kick returner, also returned 19 kickoffs for 371 yards and nine punts for 181 yards.

PERSONAL
Coached by Finis Vanover at Angleton (Texas) High School where he was a two-time all-state and four-time all-district selection at multiple positions. Invited to play in the 2011 Under Armour All-American Game and was a member of ESPNU’s top 150 national prospects. Was a four-year starter at Angleton and finished his career with 8,265 all-purpose yards and 83 touchdowns on offense, rushing for 4,409 yards and 58 touchdowns, passing for 1,938 yards and 11 touchdowns and catching 10 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, totaled 237 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, six sacks, 10 interceptions, 52 pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, seven blocked kicks and returned four interceptions for scores.

  • Also lettered three years in track and was a two-year letterman in basketball.
  • Brother, Quentin Jammer, was a three-year starter and All-American defensive back at Texas (1997-98, 2000, 01) and played for the Denver Broncos in 2013 after 11 seasons with the San Diego Chargers (2002-12).
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in physical culture and sports with a minor in social work from Texas and was a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor roll in 2013.
